Tariffs 👎
At UnBorked, I pride myself on keeping your favorite gaming systems running smoothly while maintaining transparency and affordability. However, recent developments surrounding international trade tariffs have raised concerns about potential increases in repair part costs. I wanted to take a moment to explain the situation and reassure you that your peace of mind remains my top priority.
Many of the parts I use for repairs are sourced from U.S.-based suppliers. However, these suppliers often rely on components that are manufactured in China. With proposed tariffs targeting imported goods from China, the costs of these parts may soon rise. Our suppliers have already sent out notices warning of potential cost increases, although nothing has been officially announced as of the time of writing this post.Â
Given the global nature of manufacturing, avoiding these tariffs entirely is, unfortunately, impossible. Even when working with U.S.-based companies, the interconnected supply chain means that Chinese-made components play a crucial role in creating the parts we rely on.
I believe that trust is built on honesty. That’s why I'm committed to being completely transparent about any changes to parts costs. If repair prices do need to adjust in the future, rest assured that you’ll be informed every step of the way. I promise to always prioritize fairness and clarity in my pricing, so you can make informed decisions about your repairs with confidence.
Thank you,
Dave
